Shildon played their third game in a week at Dean Street with Jarrow Roofing the visitors this time. The first half of this match must go down as one of the least entertaining matches in a long time at Dean Street. Neither side had a real effort on goal and the passing and movement from both sides was in all honesty dreadful. Adam Emson did manage a strong run into the Roofing area in the 24th minute but his appeal for a spot kick was turned down by the referee who then booked him for diving. Shildon were missing the guile of Stuart Niven in attacking areas as Niven was playing centre half. The most exciting point of the first half was the half time raffle draw as and the thought of a half time pie.

HALF TIME SHILDON 0-0 JARROW ROOFING

Both sets of supporters were hoping for a better a second half and Roofing did press the home side in the early stages, Shildon also began to make one or two half chances, Emson had a header off a Niven free kick in the 51st minute but both sides continued to play scruffy football with no real flow. Full back Ross Cowan had a great chance in the 62nd minute but his first time effort was awful. Worryingly Roofing were starting to look dangerous and when Shildon gifted them the ball in 65th minute it was down to Andrew Spence to block the danger. Tyson Masters replaced Wayne Gredziak and his impact was immediate, the Roofing back four were looking for the offside but Masters didn't think twice and slotted the ball past Gary Fratter to put Shildon ahead in the 79th minute.  Roofing piled on the pressure in search of a equaliser but Spence was equal to their efforts producing a string of decent saves. The game almost boiled over in the final stages with  Mason and Ankers both being booked, things were worse for Roofing who had a man sent off in the final stages. Another good win for Shildon who go past the 20 point mark with this win, but not a great game to watch.
