Tow Law were the visitors to Dean Street on an awful day with driving rain, on a heavy pitch the early signs from both sides were good with good passing and movement .Shildon had the first sniff at goal in the 8th minute when Daniel Moore went close with a header. It was positive to see two sides trying to play the ball on the ground , Shildon did look more dangerous upfront with Masters and Gredziak both looking lively. Spence was forced to save in the 13th minute after some good play by The Lawyers, former Lawyer Stuart Niven thought he had given the home side the lead in the 33rd minute when his scrambled effort looked like it had gone, the ball seemed to come out through the side of the net which hadn't been secured properly and the referee awarded a goal kick to the bemusement of the home crowd. Shildon continued to press until the half time whistle without managing to create a clear cut chance.

Masters went close just 3 minutes later but the striker just couldn't angle his header past the keeper. Tom Ptak doubled Shildons lead in the 67th minute when Tow Law failed to clear the danger, the big centre half deserved a goal for his outstanding performance. Shildon were playing the sort of football everyone at the club would want to see, everyone looked comfortable on the ball and more importantly everyone wanted the ball, Tow Law deserve a lot of credit too as they approached the game in the same manner and did go close in the 68th minute but Andy Spence was quick to react when really the Tow aw player should of buried a golden chance. Adam Emson put the game out of reach in the 86th minute, Tyson Masters great skill in the box gave Emson a chance, the striker made no mistake with a brilliant finish to put the icing on the cake. Despite being three goals ahead Shildon still looked for more goals, Andy Howarth did well to win the ball in his own half and then side step a Tow Law player, he then played a class ball into the path of Emson who did well to get a shot in a goal from a difficult angle which just fell short.. Captain Daniel Moore had the last chance of the match in the final minute with a shot just wide. This really was one of the best performances this season from Shildon who throughout the game and in difficult conditions played some superb football, to their credit Tow Law also played some good stuff and this match was a fantastic advert for the Northern League.
