TEAM: SPENCE, COWAN, ANKERS, HOWARTH, MASON, RAITT, GRAYSON, MOORE, MASTERS, EMSON, HARDMEN, SUBS: NIVEN, JURY.

Another away trip for Shildon, this time it was former Shildon manager Kenny Lindoes Consett side who stood in the way. After stringing a few decent results together this game was an ideal opportunity to see how far this Shildon side had progressed. Lewis Hardman returned to the staring line up for ShIldon , but with injuries and suspensions plus the transfer of Darryl Hall to Morpeth Shildon found themselves with only two substitutes available. Consett looked lively early on playing some good balls in behind the Shildon back four but the makeshift back four which included Andy Howarth at centre half managed to contain Consett to just a handful of chances. Tyson Masters and Adam Emson both had half chances for Shildon in the 15th and 22nd minute proving that Consett were not going to have it all there own way. Captain Daniel Moore saw his 31st minute go just wide after a good spell of pressure from the Railwaymen, just three minutes later Consett struck, Dean Grayson failed to clear the danger down the right flank and a great cross was sent into the danger zone, Moffat headed home for Consett to put the Steel men ahead. Shildon held on till half time but rarely looked like getting that all important goal.

HALF TIME SHILDON 0-1 CONSETT

Consett started the second half as they finished the first, they were first to any loose balls and never let Shildon have the time to get the ball down and play, Andrew Spence in the Shildon goal for forced to make a number of great saves as Consett attacked from all angle. Shildon were restricted to a few long range efforts that never troubled the Consett keeper, finally the pressure paid off for Consett in the 67th minute, Deon Raitt lost the ball in midfield and the home side engineered a goal out of good passing and movement, this time Johnson scoring for the home side. Things got even worse just minutes later, Consett were awarded a few kick on the edge of the box and former Sunderland and Darlington defender Jonjo Dickmen stepped up to crack the ball into the back of the net. There was no way back for Shildon who never looked like scoring to be truthful, Consett always seemed to have more time and options on the ball. The referees whistle came as a welcome relief for the travelling supporters who saw there side go down to a well organized footballing side.
